Looking for ways to build connection, cooperation, and compassion at home?
The Mother-Daughter Circle is a structured group for mothers/women-caregivers and girls/youth aligned with female development, grades 5-8. The purpose of the group is to promote a healthy and sustaining bond between mothers and daughters during the transitional years from girlhood to young womanhood.
The circle format uses themes and activities focused on both the strengths and the challenges in the mother-daughter relationship experience during adolescence.
Sessions include a mix of whole group activities as well as small group break-outs in which mothers and daughters meet separately to talk about role-specific challenges, needs, and strategies. The whole group comes together again for sharing of stories or messages, commitments, and acknowledgements.
Mother-Daughter circle meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month starting November 4th (8 sessions).
Groups held at the Mansfield Senior Center:
303 Maple Road, Mansfield CT from 5:00 pm-6:30 pm. Snacks will be provided.
