Pre-registration required by November 28

Jog, prance or stroll your own personal distance in this family friendly event. Jingle bells provided with FREE registration. All are welcome, strollers not allowed on EO Smith track.

Stuff A Cruiser Toy Drive


The Mansfield Resident State Troopers are collecting unwrapped toys and gifts for local families in need.

Drop off your donation in the box near the office in Town Hall by Friday, December 2, 2022.

The Troopers will also collect donations during Winter Welcome on Saturday, December 3 in Downtown Storrs (4:00 - 6:30 PM).

Requested items include new and unwrapped:

  • Gift cards for local businesses
  • Toys for all ages, including teens
  • Stuffed animals
  • Stocking stuffers

Holiday Craft Fair


Visit the Mansfield Community Center between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM on Saturday, December 4 to support local crafters, artists, and makers - and to cross of some names on your gift list!

The Holiday Craft Fair is free to attend and open to everyone.

Winter Welcome


Celebrate the start of the new season at the Mansfield Downtown Partnership's 10th Annual Winter Welcome in Downtown Storrs!

Enjoy community displays; performances including music, dance, and puppetry; winter-themed stories, and more!

The frosty fun takes place from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM on Saturday, December 3.

Winter Welcome is free and open to everyone.

Enjoy the magic of "The Nutcracker"


Mansfield Parks and Recreation and Miss Kelly Productions present the annual community production of "The Nutcracker" on Saturday, December 3 (6:00 PM) and Sunday, December 4 (1:00 PM).

Performances will be at the Mansfield Middle School (205 Spring Hill Road)

Tickets are available for purchase in advance at the Community Center (10 S. Eagleville Road, Storrs) or at the door until sold out.

Tickets are:

  • Children and Seniors (ages 3-17 and 62+): $8 per person
  • Adults (ages 18-61): $12 per person

E. O. Smith Drama Club presents...


On Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, Dec. 4 at 2:30 PM, the E. O. Smith Drama Club will present two pieces:

  • BEOWULF, a short drama translated and adapted by Gabriel Dean and directed by Collin Moffitt
  • Bad Auditions By Bad Actors, a comedy by Ian McWethy and directed by Jack Dooley

How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice!

And some help from your community!


The E. O. Smith Chamber Singers are heading to Carnegie Hall this spring for a solo performance as part of a mass choir event featuring students from across the country. To make the trip affordable and accessible to all of its students, they are raising funds to cover the costs of registration, transportation, and room and board. 

On Monday, December 5, the Chamber Singers are hosting a benefit concert in support of their trip. Special guests will include:

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.

The concert will take place at 7:30 PM at St. Mary's Church in Willimantic (46 Valley Street, Willimantic, CT 06226).

Senior Trip!


The Ivoryton Playhouse presents: Winter Wonderettes


Registration and fee due by Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2022

The Mansfield Senior Center is hitting the road! Enjoy a road trip to Ivoryton, CT for a fun performance on Wednesday, December 14 from 10:15 AM to 6:00 PM.

The Wonderettes are back! This seasonal celebration finds the girls entertaining at the annual Essex Hardware Holiday Party. When Santa turns up missing, the girls use their talent and creative ingenuity to save the holiday party!

Featuring great ’60s versions of holiday classics such as “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” Run, Rudolph, Run” and “Winter Wonderland.” We will have lunch at Ivoryton Tavern before the show.

Note: Before admittance into the Playhouse, vaccinated patrons are asked to provide proof of vaccination(with photo ID). If you are not vaccinated or cannot provide vaccination cards, you must wear a mask.

Tickets are $50/person, prepaid reservations due by 12/7

Shoreline Ringers Handbell Ensemble

Handbell Performance


The Mansfield Public Library will host the Shoreline Ringers on Thursday, December 8 at 6:00 PM.

This community handbell ensemble will teach the history of bells, the various techniques used when playing. The Ringers will present a demonstration with a few songs, and even offer hands-on audience participation. Fun for the whole family!

TVCCA Holiday Celebration Meal & Holiday Extravaganza

Put on your favorite holiday sweater and join us to celebrate the season!


Enjoy special performances by Mansfield 3rd grade carolers and our very own Sparkettes tap dance group. Dine with friends on a delicious prime rib meal. Meet Gilbert the Party Pig for a holiday themed photo op. This Holiday Extravaganza is sure to get you in the holiday spirit!

Art Exhibit at Mansfield Community Center


Visit the Community Center to work on your fitness - and appreciate some art!

The current exhibit, "Ceramics and Weavings," features works by local artists Elizabeth Lindorff, Jack Boyko, and Ann Williams.

"Ceramics and Weavings" will be on display through January.

The Town's Arts Advisory Committee coordinates the art display at the Community Center. Click here for more information on the committee as well as how to apply for an exhibit.

Family Fun Day!


Pack up the whole family and head to Mansfield Community Center on Saturday, December 17 for Family Fun Day from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM.

Don your ugliest holiday sweaters and come play! Enjoy the gym slide, big blue blocks, Tot toys, Wibit, family teen center time, family track hours, coloring contest, and a special card making activity!

Family Fun Day is FREE to members. Non-members pay the daily guest rate.
