Our mission is to achieve the most efficient and effective use of resources for the benefit of the citizens and animals; to create an environment in which people can move about safely; and to minimize euthanasia by promoting our facility’s pets for adoption in as many ways as possible and to maintain management excellence.
Rabies Clinic coming up.....
When: Saturday June 24, 2023 from 10AM - Noon
Where: Annie Vinton School, 306 Stafford Road, Mansfield
Cost: $15.00 cash or check PER dog/cat
Each June, NECTAR in cooperation with Mansfield Animal Control and the East Brook Animal Hospital, will host their annual low cost rabies clinic at the Annie Vinton School (New Location). The Clinic will be curbside. Please bring your current rabies certificate for a 3 year vaccine. Please have dogs on a leash and 1 cat per carrier. Two (2) free vaccines per household with proof of low income.

Adoption Fees
All our shelter pets are fully vetted before they are adopted out.

Animal Adoption
We use a pet adoption questionnaire to match prospective owners with pets. We give extensive information about our pets and pet behavior issues in order to ensure a successful adoption.

Feline Overpopulation
A great number of complaints we receive are cat related. Most of these calls are a direct result of feline overpopulation resulting from owners failing to spay or neuter their cats.

Rabies
If a human is bitten by a dog or bitten or scratched by a cat or wildlife, please seek immediate medical attention and contact your animal control facility.
