About the Historic District Commission
Established: The Mansfield Historic District Commission was established by ordinance of Town Meeting which took effect on February 1, 1969.
Purpose: The Mansfield Historic District Commission was established by ordinance to promote the educational, cultural, economic and general welfare of the Town of Mansfield through the preservation and protection of buildings and places of historic interest by maintenance of such landmarks in the history of architecture and of the Town of Mansfield, and through the development of appropriate settings for such buildings, places and districts.
